At gspeed.org, we take user privacy seriously. This policy describes how we handle connection diagnostics and IP addresses.

1. IP Address Processing: To test your internet speed, our servers must establish a connection with your device. We process your IP address temporarily during the test. For security and abuse protection (rate limiting), we hash your IP address in memory. We do not store exact IP addresses in persistent databases.

2. Approximate Location: We detect your approximate location (city/country) based on your IP to select the nearest test server. We do not request or access your device's precise GPS coordinates.

3. Cookies: We use minimal, privacy-compliant cookies to store your preferred speed units or settings. We do not track you across other websites.

4. Data Retention: Anonymized, aggregated speed test results (such as average download speed in a region) may be retained for analytics and optimization. No personally identifiable information is stored.
